MAKE ADHD DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT ACCESSIBLE

SIGN THE PETITION

Access to healthcare should not be a postcode lottery or dependent on income.

Up to 480,000 children and adults may be living with ADHD in Victoria, with many unable to access diagnosis and treatment due to the high out of pocket cost and lack of appointment availability.

There are currently no public ADHD diagnostic services for adults over 25 in Victoria and long wait times for children and young Victorians.

People are being faced with having to pay extreme fees to be seen by specialists in the private system, with most patients paying over $1,000 – sometimes up to $2,000 – for an assessment.

It’s got to change.

People should be able to access the care they need regardless of where they live or their income. The government can make it happen.

By letting GPs take on a bigger role in diagnosing and treating ADHD, thousands of Victorians could get better access to potentially life-changing care. In other states, GPs are allowed to provide this care, but not in Victoria.

Join us in calling on the Victorian Government to bring us into line with reforms in other states, allowing GPs to diagnose and manage treatment for ADHD.
