In partnership with the Howl Women’s Choir, join us for a community screening of ‘River’, a breathtaking Australian documentary narrated by Willem Dafoe that highlights the importance and precarity of rivers worldwide.
‘River’ blends cinema essay with documentary, in collaboration with the Australian Chamber Orchestra, to tell the story of one of Earth’s formative features: how they shaped first the planet and then human civilisation — before humans learned how, in turn, to shape them. We are thrilled to present this screening with the Howl Women’s Choir, who will share some original ‘River’ compositions from the extraordinary musical mind of composer, choir conductor, and local Lucy O’Grady.
Hear from waterway experts, river campaigners, and community members about the important of protecting our rivers as living entities. Speakers to be announced!
There will be seating provided, with plenty of space to set up a picnic blanket, cushions, and blankets if you’d prefer! Refreshments provided.
