Are you our next Communications and Advocacy Coordinator?

Based in Geelong, this 0.7FTE role offers flexible working arrangements and the chance to drive impactful community engagement, media strategy, and grassroots advocacy. If you’re a passionate communicator ready to craft compelling content, manage social media, and amplify key issues across Western Victoria, we’d love to hear from you!

Who We Are

Sarah Mansfield is the Victorian Greens first regional MP, elected to represent the region of Western Victoria at the 2022 state election. Sarah is the spokesperson for Water, Health, Mental Health, Local Government, Agriculture, and Rural and Regional Communities.

About the Role

As Communications and Advocacy Coordinator, you will play a key role in building Sarah’s profile across Western Victoria by creating engaging content, managing social media, and driving digital communications. You’ll identify media opportunities, collaborate with other Greens MPs’ offices and develop compelling messaging across email, social media, advertising, and traditional media to connect with new audiences and grow our supporter base. This role also involves supporting local campaigns, maintaining Sarah’s website, coordinating events, and ensuring all communications align with the office’s strategic vision and parliamentary guidelines.

And on the advocacy side, you will develop and implement strategic initiatives that engage supporters, volunteers, and key stakeholders across Western Victoria. By building relationships with local communities and amplifying important issues, you will help shape Sarah’s advocacy efforts and provide regional insights on state-wide campaigns. This role also involves briefing Sarah on emerging concerns, supporting local campaigns, and collaborating on community events to strengthen public engagement.

About You

You should be organised, adaptable, and able to work both independently and as part of a fast-moving team while building strong relationships, exercising sound judgment, and embracing new opportunities to create meaningful political change.
