Community safety and thriving waterways on the agenda at Parliament this week

PARLIAMENT WRAP-UP: Always glad to get back to beautiful Geelong after our Parliament weeks but really proud of using every opportunity to bring up issues that matter to you and people in our region.

Murray Darling: We won’t back down on the Murray until the Victorian Labor Government takes action to protect it for those who depend on it, and for future generations. We know the Victorian Government has relied on dodgy research to inform it’s Murray Darling policies and position on buy-backs, and this week I asked the Minister how they plan to rectify it.

Safe bike lanes: I’m really passionate about Geelong and our regional towns having reliable, safe alternatives to driving. This means we must have protected bike lines if we want to get people out cycling. I was really happy to raise this on behalf of a constituent who reached out to our office about their own cycling experience in Geelong.

Drug harm reduction: Last week I was contacted by a family who lost their son to overdose. The family are now fighting for a medically-supervised injecting room in Geelong in the hope they can prevent other families from living through the
